Police warning after three recent sexual assults
Police in south-east London are appealing for witnesses and information following three similar sexual assaults.
On the 15th of January at approximately 1.30pm a 20-year-old woman was making her way home when she was approached from behind by a man at Crooklog, Bexleyheath.
The man grabbed from behind and forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
On 22nd of January at approximately 8pm a 41-year-old woman was walking to work along Beverley Rd, close to Barnehurst Railway station, when she was also approached from behind by a man.
The man grabbed her shoulder and attempted to sexually assault her.
At approximately 6.15pm on 1st of February a 25 year old woman was on route to work when she was approached from behind by a man on Hornefare Rd, SE7, close to the junction with Shooters Hill Road.
The man grabbed her around the throat and attempted to sexually assault her. Following a struggle the man made off.
The victims of each incident are white and were wearing skirts at the time. None of the women required hospital treatment.
In each case the suspect is described and a white man aged approximately 20 years old He is described as being between 5ft 8 and 5ft 10 and of slim build.
A joint investigation into the incidents is being conducted by officers from Greenwich CID and Bexleyheath Sapphire Unit.
Officers are also reminding women walking alone to be aware for their safety. They are urged to plan their journey, know the route they are taking, use well lit busy places and be aware of their surroundings.
