Belvedere Community Centre

Many local people have noticed the building activity going on at the Belvedere Community Centre and wonder what is actually happening inside. The building work is actually the tip of the iceberg and is just a start of some major changes taking place. These changes will make the centre more user friendly and open up new opportunities for local groups looking for a base in the Belvedere area. The building project is due to finish at the end of July 2006, but existing users are already feeling the benefits. Changes that have already taken place: • Re-decoration of the large gym area (accommodation for up to 300 people). • Upgraded lighting in the gym. • Improved heating services throughout the building. • Upgraded security fence to the front of the building. Improvements following completion of the building project: • New reception space and access to main areas. • New ladies and men’s toilet. • New disabled access toilet. • Improved disabled access to the building. • Improved ventilation to meeting room. In addition to the changes above we have also embarked on a program to enhance the area around the centre, by planting a range of colourful plants and shrubs in our grounds Some of the existing clubs at the centre are; Youth Centre, Asian Daycentre, Karate Group, Slim-World, Toddler Group, Belvedere Tri-Forum, Table Tennis, Craft Classes and a Church group. So why not join one of our existing clubs or alternatively, start one of your own.
