Sam, owner of the British Raj Indian restaurant, Crayford, has got world cup fever. To show his support of our footballers in Germany, he has erected a 25ft long – 15ft wide Banner saying good luck.
Sam who has owned the restaurant for seven year said “ I’m a great football fan and I really wanted to do something to show my support, and this was what I thought of” He also believe England has a strong chance of winning, so much so, if England’s Wins the world cup he is inviting every back to his restaurant on the Sunday 9th July for a free meal on him!
I’ve already marked out my diary to watch the final, but now I’ve marked in where to go afterwards, fingers crossed England will do it this year!

Bexley Council Leader, Cllr Ian Clement, raised the St George’s flag outside the Civic Offices in Bexleyheath today to demonstrate the borough’s whole-hearted support for the England football team.
“We are 100% behind the team and we’ll be cheering them on to bring the World Cup home in a month’s time,” says Cllr Clement. “I am too young to remember 1966, but certainly remember our failure to qualify in 1973 and our defeat to Germany in Italia ‘90.”
The Council found itself under attack last week over safety advice it issued about flying England flags from Council vehicles.
“We have made it clear that our staff are free to fly flags from Bexley Council vehicles,” explains Cllr Clement. “It was never our intention to stop them expressing their support for the team, but a couple of safety issues were raised. Common sense has prevailed and, after looking at these issues carefully, we were able to come up with some simple safety guidance which meant that staff were able to fly the flag on the vehicles before the first England game.”
