YOUR VIEWS ON THE FISH STATUE
The art work is a start, but we need a much braver person to move Erith on from it’s medocrity. Anonymous

I just read the article about the statue of intwining fishes on the roundabout by bronze age way, I really think the money could have been better spent, on somthing else it is a bit of an eyesore.. putting a nice flower bed down may have been the better option but with the vandals in the area it no doubt would have been destroyed. I fear this statue will also be wrecked by mindless vandals in months to come. BENJAMIN

Hi, I think the fish in the middle of the roundabout was a waste of money and it is a eyesore. There is a lot of things that need doing in Erith and the fish thing was not one of them. The money would of been better spent on other things such as finding things to do for the gangs of kids that hang around causing trouble, they need a centre to go to. Chubby’s Bingo Cafe
Dear sir/madam I am writing on behalf of the Greenmead over 50’s Club which is based in Thamesmead. We have been in operation for 15years, most of our members are well over the 50 year mark. We have a great community spirit in our club. We usually use the hall at Lime Row off Yarton Way, Thamesmead which is owned by Trust Thamesmead but unfortunately the hall is being refurbished for up to 10 weeks. There is a café called Chubby browns on the corner of Lime Row who has kindly let us use his premises for our bingo nights which is twice a week. We are so very grateful for this, otherwise we would have to abandon the club until further notice. Our members get great enjoyment from these two nights and it means a great deal to all of us to be able to have somewhere to go that is still within walking distance. We would like to thank Chubby Brown for coming to our rescue. We feel that this is a great advertisement for community spirit. Thanks Thelma
