GALLIONS HOUSING FAIR

The summer may be over and the schools back to work but that didn’t stop the fun and games at the Gallions Residents’ Board annual housing fair in Thamesmead, Saturday 17th September. With the theme of ‘Celebrating Diversity’ more than 1,000 people turned up to enjoy an afternoon of family entertainment. Ali G dropped in for a surprise visit, whilst the day took on a more aristocratic tone with the arrival of Emily Howard of Little Britain’s ‘I’m a lady’ fame. The housing fair also saw the launch of Gallions ‘Pride in Thamesmead’ Award. Alison Breese, Gallions’ Director of Operations, presented four local residents with an award in recognition of their valuable contribution to the local community. The GRB housing Fair is firmly established as a community event that draws together the many different communities within Thamesmead. Wendy Mason, Gallions Resident Involvement Officer says “Residents have a great family day out whilst also having the opportunity to meet the people who deliver the services to them.”
