ERITH ARTWORK
In 2004 funding was secured for the Regeneration of Erith Town Centre. As part of this regeneration programme funds were set-aside for a major new Public Art Scheme. On the Bronze Age Way roundabout a sculpture has been revealed showing intertwined fish. Reference has been made to the former Erith Urban District Council’s coat of arms that incorporated three pikes, the symbol of the De Luci family who were local landowners in medieval Erith. The artist is Gary Drostle. What do you think of the sculpture? Let us know at gatewaynews.co.uk
