Wildlife Pond Events
Lenses Abbey Conservation Volunteers will carry out maintenance of local wildlife pond in Abbey Wood. The events will be held on the following Sundays 3rd Septemeber, 17th September & 1st October. All the events will start at the information centre near Lesnes Abbey at noon & finish about 3:30pm.
Many of U.K’s ponds are shrinking, therefore LACV will demonstrate how to care for & enhance water areas for wildlife. Ponds are important for many invertebrates & amphibians as well as for bats and other wildlife. Ponds also contain their own specialised plant life, all of which helps to improve our local environment. LACV will provide drinks & all the equipment, but bring your own packed lunch, wear suitable clothes & remember your wellies.
