ROAD RAGE ATTACK

Bexley Police are appealing for witnesses and information to a road rage incident that occurred on Wednesday 10th August. The incident involved two cars, a grey metallic Nissan X-trail hatchback and a purple ford fiesta that happened at approximately 9.30 pm when an altercation took place between the occupants in Gravel Hill at the junction Albion Road. Following this incident both the vehicles stopped at a BP Garage in Erith Road, Northumberland Heath where a further altercation took place. The driver and passenger of the purple ford fiesta got out of their vehicle to speak to the other driver. The driver of the Nissan X-trail then drove the vehicle at one of occupants resulting in a heavily pregnant woman being seriously injured. An ambulance conveyed the victim (24 years) to hospital. Her condition is said to be stable. The suspect, a 49-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and conveyed to Bexleyheath Police Station. She has been bailed until the 26th August pending further police enquiries. DC Esther Nodding who is investigating this incident said, “This was an extremely dangerous and unprovoked attack on a heavily pregnant woman who was unable to defend herself. I would urge anyone who witnessed any of this incident to call Bexleyheath CID on 020 8284 9136, in particular the driver of a red escort who assisted the victim and possibly witnessed the assault”.

Development abandonded

A development in Erith along the river front has been left derelict and abandoned because of no decision made by Bexley Council. The River walk has been left for year untouched even though the Contractors, Wimpy Homes have left the site. Gateway News Spoke to Wimpy Homes and a spokes person told us that they are waiting for Bexley council to give a decision on what type of path way the want to built there. We also contacted the council for their opinion and up to now have received no response.
